Advocacy

Advocacy is central to NMHC’s mission. We actively work to shift systems by:

• Policy Advocacy: Supporting legislation that advances culturally competent care, protects health access for immigrant and refugee communities, and funds equity-focused public health initiatives.
• Language Justice & Health Literacy: Advocating for multilingual health communication and the integration of interpreters and cultural navigators into care delivery.
• Community-Led Change: Elevating grassroots leaders and organizations to co-design solutions, set policy priorities, and drive resource allocation based on community wisdom.
• Equity in Research & Data: Challenging biased research frameworks and supporting inclusive data practices that accurately reflect the health realities of multicultural populations.
